The Team
The team started at U7 following a successful period developing at the Wildcats sessions. After entering the RFYGL (Russell Foster Youth Girls League) we won the league and the cup without losing a single game. We were runner up in the league the following year and then have continued to develop gaining players and losing some along the way but we have adapted and work extremely hard at bringing on the newer girls to blend in with the experienced ones.
This season our aim is to continue developing the girls’ skills and understanding of tactics and positioning so in attack and defence situations they all know their job. We want to get the girls to pass and move quickly in transition to start an attack at fast paced. The girls are gelling really well and if not this season I think next season we will be very strong.
We have a few different characters in the team but we are together and the work so hard for each other. If one girl goes to tackle an opposition player and they get past another one gets across to cover her and try to prevent them shooting/scoring. They are tough, funny and emotional at times but I do my best to look after their welfare and keep them positive. We have the odd day together where we go Bowling or Trampolining at Planet Leisure.
SPONSORS
We have a had two sponsors join together to get the girls winter coats. Neville Jones of J & C Coaches and Andy Turner Inventor. They were superb in offering their services when I explained what I was trying to do and we were extremely touched by their kindness..
Lewis & Molly Clennell is our current sponsor and his sister Imogen Clennell is a member of our team. He has purchased strips and track suits within the last two years and we are extremely grateful for this.

Coach Wayne Anderson joined us at the start of our U10 Season last year and is ready to go again this year. His daughter has always played for our team however Wayne has only just joined the coaching staff. Wayne has previously been at Man Utd and Derby before an injury forced him to retire professionally but he was able to play semi-professionally at Crook

Manager and Coach Dougie Grant was a semi-professional footballer for 21 years, playing for Esh Winning, Ferryhill and Shildon in the Northern league and Bishop Auckland in the old HFS Loans League Premier Division (NATIONAL LEAGUE now I believe). I have managed and coached the girls since my daughter Lucy joined at U7.
